Job Description

Holy Spirit - Avon Lake The Communications-Evangelization Minister will work with the Pastor to build communications plans, giving input on what to communicate, what new or existing channels to prioritize, and bring new ideas and constructive criticism to the table. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and manage content on social media, website, weekly newsletter, and bulletins to ensure an accurate, creative, and consistent tone, look, and delivery.
  • Coordinate with the pastor, parish staff, and parish ministries to engage various church groups and publicize events.
  • Specific tasks include: o Weekly creation of bulletin content for bulletin editor using Canva and similar software.
o Production of Easter and Christmas publications o Weekly production of the Spirit weekly E-Newsletter. o Weekly production of content and scheduling of Parish social media o Weekly updating of parish website o Weekly production of slides for TV displays in the church o Training staff, volunteers, and parishioners on parish Realm Software o Provide media and web Support for parish groups
Skills:
Essential are abilities as Graphic Design using Canva Pro and skills in web design and maintenance, ability in or to learn Realm by ACS. Helpful are abilities in or to learn Adobe Illustrator, Constant Contact, social media (including Facebook, Instagram & YouTube), Microsoft Office Suite, etc. Personal philosophy, values, and lifestyle that are consistent with a leadership role in Catholic parishes Virtus training and, according to ORC Section 3319.22, a criminal background check and fingerprinting will be required for hiring. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The position is up to 20 hours per week. Range $21/ hour — $24/ hour
