Overview
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Member of the treatment team who provides for the spiritual needs of residents, families, and staff. The Chaplain assists patients/residents to understand more fully life's events as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being. Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Foster an atmosphere of respect and dignity for spiritual needs. Offer religious and spiritual guidance to patients. Offer prayer o. reflection. May participate in committees and patient, conferences to enhance the continuity of care. Develop positive working relationship with members of the treatment team. Provide consultation and appropriate resources to the interdisciplinary and group therapists regarding the spiritual needs and requests of the patient as they relate to treatment. Keep documentation as required. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customer's always. When patient needs are acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority. Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred. Completion of curriculum of theological classes and displays skills and competencies in pastoral care required. Previous pastoral experience preferred.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Certification by an appropriate clinical pastoral agency. CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility.
