Job Description

PURPOSE STATEMENT
Member of the treatment team who provides for the spiritual needs of residents, f amilies, and st aff. The Chaplain assists patie nts/residen ts to understand more fully life's events a s they relate to their spiritual a nd emotional well- being.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
F oster an atmosphere of respect and dignity for spiritual needs. Offer religious and spiritual guidance to patients. Offer prayer o. reflection. May participate in committees an d patient, conferences to enhance the continuity of care . Develop p ositive working relationship with members of the treatment team. Provide consultation and appropriate resources to the interdisciplinary and group therapists regarding the spiritual needs and requests of th e pat ient as they relate to treatment . Keep documentation a s required . Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customer's always . When patient needs a re acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree required . Master's Degree preferred. Completion of curriculum of theol ogical classes and displays skill s and competencies in pastoral care required . Previous pastoral experience preferr ed.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Certific ation by an appropriate clinical pastoral agency. CPR and de-escalation /restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility.
