Duties Provide spiritual guidance, pastoral counseling, and bereavement support to patients and their families, respecting diverse religious beliefs and cultural backgrounds Lead religious services, prayer sessions, and spiritual rituals in accordance with patients' faith traditions Offer crisis intervention and terminal illness counseling to help patients and families cope with grief, loss, and emotional distress Collaborate with interdisciplinary hospice teams to develop personalized spiritual care plans that address individual needs Facilitate educational sessions on religious studies, biblical theology, or spiritual topics for patients, families, and staff Assist in event planning for memorial services or community outreach programs aligned with the organization's mission Mentor and train volunteers or new staff members in providing compassionate spiritual support and crisis management techniques Requirements Proven experience working as a clergyperson or in religious leadership roles within nonprofit faith-based organizations or hospice care settings Strong knowledge of biblical theology, religious teaching, pastoral theology, and Christian counseling methods Excellent communication skills with the ability to present effectively to diverse audiences through public speaking and educational sessions Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse communities with sensitivity and respect for different faith traditions Skilled in crisis intervention, conflict management, crisis management, and terminal illness counseling Experience in working with families during difficult times, providing mentorship, and managing emotional or spiritual crises Valid certification or ordination as a clergy member or pastoral counselor; additional training in bereavement support or hospice care is preferred This role is an essential part of our mission to deliver holistic end-of-life care rooted in compassion and faith. We will be conducting a background check on each applicant as part of our hiring process. This is a visit-based position, and you will be paid $50 per completed visit to start . Each completed patient visit must be followed by a detailed note/report entered into our EMR system. We will provide you with access and set you up in our EMR as our hired clinician. Payments are made every two weeks . Your total earnings will depend on the number of patients and visits assigned to you, so there is an opportunity to earn more as your client volume increases. You will be asked to do bereavements and PRN visits as needed. Some families will also request a phone call which we will also pay you for as a visit. We currently service a large number of patients throughout the San Diego area and anticipate ongoing opportunities for future hires.
