Job Description

The Associate Pastor for Youth and Children is responsible for leading, nurturing, and growing the church's ministries for children and youth under the age of 18. This includes teaching and leading Bible studies, developing and mentoring youth and adult leaders, partnering with parents, and creating opportunities for children and youth to grow in their faith and participation in the life of the church. The role also oversees major ministry programs and events, including Sunday School, Wednesday evening activities, Vacation Bible School, special events, a Winter Retreat, and Summer Camp. The position also carries significant responsibility for volunteer coordination and child safety, including recruiting and scheduling volunteers, maintaining background checks and records, and training those who work with minors on the church's Child Protection Policy. As an Associate Pastor, the position extends beyond children and youth ministry to include supporting overall church services and activities, continuing personal and professional development, and preaching or teaching in other areas of the church as needed. The Associate Pastor is also expected to work with church leadership, maintain a presence in local schools and the community, and remain flexible as the needs of the church and direction of the Senior Pastor determine.
