Job Description
1. Qualifications a. A clear sense of God's calling to middle & high school ministry b. College degree in Christian studies or 2 years student ministry experience preferred c. A mature, growing relationship with God and His Word in alignment with the Southern Baptist doctrine d. High ethical standards such as those detailed in 1 Timothy and Titus e. The ability to connect with students in a way that builds trust and with the hope of strengthening their family unit. f. The ability to make biblical truths clear and relevant to students g. Must pass a background check and have a valid driver's license h. Live within the community 2. Responsibilities a. Give full support to church leadership, including the senior pastor b. Actively participate in major church events outside youth ministry c. Invest in and equip mature students to develop their Christian leadership skills d. Coordinate all student activities e. Share the Gospel on an ongoing basis and create opportunities for students to come to faith in Christ f. Conduct Wednesday night youth service g. Plan year-round events that may include conferences, retreats, outreach/mission events h. Create and maintain annual student ministry budget i. Teach Sunday School 3. Salary and Hours to be Worked a. $45,000-$50,000 with the possibility of a moving allowance b. Full-time position with the understanding that some days/weeks may require more than 40 hours. There may be flex time, as approved by the senior pastor, for weeks with overtime hours.
