Next Gen and Student Minister - STH
Job Description
The Station Hill Next Gen and Student Minister is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Next Generations Minister, for overseeing all ministries in Middle school through High school. The role is designed to develop and maintain a vision for the spiritual formation of students, parents, families and student ministry leadership that is biblical, comprehensive, and consistent. The Student Minister must align the ministries he oversees with the overall mission/vision of our church and the Next Generations Ministries DNA, developing age-appropriate venues for connecting others to Christ through gospel conversations, groups, going, gathering, and giving.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
may include but are not limited to the following: Grow spiritually and model to the student ministry staff, students, leaders, and parents a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Work in conjunction with the Station Hill Staff Team, the Station Hill Next Generations + Childrens Minister, and the Student Ministry Point Person to contextualize and implement the Disciples Making Disciples (DxD) and spiritual formation strategy for Station Hill Students. This will take place through the five buckets of: gospel conversations, groups, going, gathering, and giving. Develop and deploy student ministry leadership, create new groups, oversee curriculum, and prepare experiences that are engaging, creative, and biblically applicable to students Give direction to student ministry leadership in the areas of enlistment, equipping, mobilization, and encouragement; having as the goal to place each leader in their area of giftedness. Leaders in any aspect of Student Ministry (regular programming, fellowships, Catalyst Events, and Mission Journeys, etc.) are to be vetted, equipped, and have knowledge of our core values. Plan, execute, and strengthen Station Hill-specific pathways for students, including weekly programing (Sunday AM, Big Wednesdays / Student LifeGroups, 5:22 Sunday Evening Group, etc.), catalyst events, and ministry / mission opportunities. Prioritize leadership development of students by providing ways for them to lead out in ministry experience as it relates to weekly programming, catalyst events, and a mentoring ministry. Work with the Nest Generations and Family Minister in the area of next level leadership development as it relates to lay leadership training and an organized intern, apprentice, and residence model. Oversee the structures that support the Student Ministry, including strategic goals (reviewed quarterly and annually), budgets (reviewed monthly and annually), and use of facilities for ministerial purposes, and updating and reviewing the Student Quarterly Ministry "Scorecard" (quarterly). Develop an annual budget for all middle school and high school ministry initiatives, intentionally working to stay within budgetary constraints for each line item. Assess student ministry capital needs and take appropriate action in securing these resources when necessary. Provide and vet all curriculums for each program in student ministry. Curriculums should be doctrinally pure, age appropriate, and aligned with the mission and vision of our ministry and church. Work with the Student Missions Mobilizer to cultivate a culture of missions and to provide opportunities for service locally, nationally and internationally. Support the development of strategic partnerships and missional opportunities with our regional campuses. Fully support families and work with the Next Generations and Family Ministry as well as the Discipleship Team to create a partnership between the church and home. Lead out in the training and education of new student-aged members to assimilate them into the life of the ministry and church. Be available for pastoral care, spiritual coaching, and support of students and their families as the need arises.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
may include but are not limited to the following: Work with Student Ministry Point Person and Student Ministers/Next Generations Ministers from all campuses to ensure alignment of ministry philosophy and Next Generations and Family DNA. Work with the campus Student Ministry Teams to plan, execute, and give direction for all campus catalyst events (Camps, Retreats, etc.) Develop and maintain healthy relationships with area schools and administrations. Serve as an important contributing member of the ministerial team at the Station Hill campus, carrying out the calling and roles of a team member however called upon. Effectively communicate and work alongside campus administrative assistants, who will assist with day-to-day work. Pray with and for all staff members on a regular basis and hold staff members accountable for personal spiritual and ministerial growth (self-development plan). Lead regular team meetings in order to communicate clearly about strategic, tactical, and operational goals. These meetings should also develop a sense of teamwork and foster a sense of cooperation among the ministries. Report to the Next Generations + Children's Minister at least twice a year on ministry progress and initiatives. Be available for development opportunities at the Station Hill Campus as directed by the pastors or supervisor. Be available to serve the church as a decision coach, pastoral coach, on-call minister and on-site minister (as assigned). Perform weddings and funerals as available. Collaborate with the Communications Team to be sure that our strategy and opportunities are documented and available to the church on a timely basis through print, web, and other social media outlets. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
: A personal sense of calling from God to vocational Christian ministry in general and to this particular area of ministry. Can identify closely with the mission, values, vision, theology, philosophy and methodology of Brentwood Baptist Church. A mature Christian who is demonstrates the Fruit of the Spirit, is growing in their faith and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer. The proven ability to identify, equip and lead a team of volunteers. Ability to collaborate, cooperate and function well in a team environment. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to relate well to adults in the ministry as parents of students or ministry volunteers. A willingness to be a "team player" both within the staff, church, and community for Kingdom purposes. Knowledge of developmental stages for students grades 6th - 12th and ability to choose and implement appropriate programming for those stages. Effective communicator, both written and verbal. Proficiency in basic computer skills and software systems.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Seminary training preferred, but not required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading in a church setting. All campuses function under the governance of Brentwood Baptist Church. Each campus is an established entity operating as a whole and permanent part of Brentwood Baptist. Each maintains pre-determined alignment characteristics that uphold the Brentwood Baptist "DNA" while also containing some contextualized characteristics to allow it to best reach its target local community. Every staff member is an employee of Brentwood Baptist.
