Job Description

The Director of Children and Families is a full-time position that will provide direct vision and direction for the children s ministry and help cultivate a cohesive vision for the family ministries (infant through high school), while building relationships, developing leaders, and equipping volunteers. Responsibilities Pray for the children and students of Grace Bible Church and their families Seek to lead children, youth, and their families to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, through evangelism, discipleship, worship, prayer, and fellowship Provide a welcoming ministry to both churched and unchurched families by engaging the community Come alongside parents to help them disciple their children in Christ Partner with staff and other leaders for engaging family events and activities Work closely with the Youth Pastor to review and implement a cohesive curriculum plan that will unify instruction for children through high school, helping to ensure both a deep and wide understanding in the Scriptures and of Christian living Regularly identify, recruit, equip, shepherd, and deploy volunteers to become multiplying disciples of Christ Shepherd children, volunteers, and families through prayer, encouragement, and biblical care Manage an annual ministry budget and work within it Attend church staff meetings and retreats Work with the Grace Safety Team to implement safety plans Support families outside the church walls by attending extracurricular activities Plan, oversee, and evaluate weekly ministry gatherings that promote biblical teaching, authentic relationships, and spiritual growth Identify and execute ministry and missional opportunities for children and families Plan, coordinate, and promote engaging activities for children and families (ex. Sunday Children s Church, Wednesday nights, VBS, Fall Festival, Summer Camp, etc ) Work closely with the Youth Pastor to foster meaningful engagement with families through a unified and coordinated ministry approach. Qualifications Has a growing personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ Is a team player and humble, willing to serve under the direction of the Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor, and the Elder Borad Has a clear call to ministry Is growing in personal prayer Relational and approachable Knows the Word of God and able to effectively teach and communicate truth Strong leadership, organizational, & administrative skills Ability to cultivate teams and equip leaders Implement a healthy work/rest routine in life Has a passion to create an environment for spiritual growth in children, youth, and their families Education and Experience A degree or formal training in biblical studies, ministry, education, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant ministry leadership experience.
