Job Description
About Hillview Baptist Church Hillview Baptist Church is located in Kennewick, Washington. We have an average of 70 people on Sunday morning. We are seeking a man to fill a lead pastor position either working full-time, or can be bi-vocational. A few years previous pastor experience is preferred but not a requirement. The ideal candidate is someone with a heart for pastoral care, able to preach, teach and lead the church in the fulfillment of the Great Commission. We are a Southern Baptist Church ascribing to the doctrinal statement of "The Baptist Faith and Message" 2000 edition. Our congregation is a mature demographic with a few younger families. We have a desire to reach out to our community including all ages and cultural groups. Expectations
- Bible College or Seminary education is preferred.
- Familiarity with or previous experience in Southern Baptist Convention or Northwest Baptist Convention churches.
- Some administrative experience and is comfortable with the use of technology for effective communication.
- Preach and teach the Word of God in a variety of styles during weekly services and Bible studies.
- Provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and counseling to members.
- The ability to effectively train and empower church leaders.
- Lead the church in outreach and evangelism efforts within the community.
- Promote missionary endeavors, home and foreign, including the Northwest Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention missions' offerings (Annie Armstrong, Lottie Moon, etc).
- Serve as a member of the church leadership team.
- Maintain some business hours in the church building through the week. (This can be discussed and can be flexible.)
- Pay attention to the condition of the church building and grounds; promote good maintenance and stewardship.
- Guide the Church in vision, growth, and discipleship.
- Encourage the church to participate in the ministries and meetings of the Columbia Basin Baptist Association and the Northwest Baptist Convention. Salary & Package
- $63,500/year for 2026.
