Job Description

We are seeking a Music Pastor as a member of our pastoral team who will provide vision and leadership for worship music at Sunday Worship and other special services, to include scheduling/overseeing the worship team and collaboration with our tech team. Specifics of the position are outlined below. This person will work with the Senior Pastor and other staff to lead us in authentic, biblical, God-honoring worship. We are looking for a passionate, self-starter who: Loves Jesus. Inspires others in their faith through worship leadership. Works well in a team environment. Supports our church s vision to Lead people in a saving and growing relationship with Jesus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sunday Worship Services:
Plan worship music for Sunday mornings in conjunction with the lead pastor and others. Review/Research Music for Congregational Worship, Choir, Musical Offerings, etc. Introduce new worship music that actively engages the church in worship while also utilizing familiar music that the congregation readily sings. Create/edit and distribute chord charts and lead sheets for the praise band in key appropriate for congregation and worship team. Provide needed resources for the worship team (sheet music, chord charts, parts, mp3, tutorials, etc.). Personally practice and lead weekly worship team rehearsals and empower others to grow in worship leadership as well. Lead the Worship Band and congregation in praise and worship on Sundays through a mix of contemporary and traditional worship music, including contemporary arrangements of more traditional hymns. Special Services Work with pastors and other staff to plan and lead occasional special services and the musical component of our drama performances throughout the year. Arrange Special Concerts for the church and community. Review/Research Music for Choir, Musical Offerings, etc. Assist/Act as a Resource for Youth Band/Children s Choir Leadership. Be available to provide or arrange for music for memorials services, and/or weddings.
Technology:
Collaborate and coordinate with technology team for all matters related to music, including all regular and special services. Provide input on purchase or repair of music and sound equipment.
General Pastoral and Administrative :
Serve on the Elder Board as a Staff Elder. Attend daily staff meetings, regular elder meetings, and periodic planning, membership, or other special topic meetings. Meet/Disciple/Coach individuals involved in ministry. Provide pastoral leadership to worship team members, to include prayer, discipleship, devotions for rehearsals, etc.

Policy and Procedures Manual and Music/Worship Pastor Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications Degree in music or worship leadership, and/or related experience. Experience leading worship with people of varying ages, in small and large group settings. Musical worship leadership talents/abilities - singing required, with instrumental capabilities (piano or guitar). Mature Christian, rooted in Scripture, who supports the vision and values of Christ the Rock Community Church. A team player who puts the unity of the church and the glory of Jesus above all. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational/planning skills. Self-starter who takes initiative, but in a team context. Flexible / ability to adjust to changing priorities and rescheduling of workload activities Desired Skills Competent in/ability to learn Microsoft Office, MS Teams, Planning Center (song/personnel scheduling), and Proclaim (projection software) or similar. Technical know-how with sound systems and worship space setup.

Degree in music or worship leadership, and/or related experience.
