Job Description

Youth Advocate Cup of Cool Water (CCW) is a nonprofit Christian ministry serving youth experiencing homelessness in downtown Spokane. Since 1997, CCW has walked alongside youth on their journey of reconciliation with themselves, God, and society. Through our drop-in center, street outreach, mentorship, life skills, and workforce development programs, we share Christ's love while upholding our core values: Community, Unconditional Love, Relationship, and Empowerment. We are seeking a dedicated, responsible individual to join our team as a Youth Advocate. Role Overview The Youth Advocate's primary role is to share the love and hope of Jesus through relationships, crisis support, and maintaining safe, clean, and welcoming services for youth. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain healthy relationships with youth, offering support and encouragement. Assist with facility preparation for drop-in (cleaning, meal prep, and setup). Participate in mentorship, job training, and life skills programs. Ensure drop-in services are safe, orderly, and effective. Serve in both support and lead roles within the advocate team. Supervise volunteers when in a lead capacity. Support fundraising and community awareness events as needed. Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-kept facility. Uphold and model CCW's core values in all interactions. Collaborate with partner agencies when appropriate. Assist with volunteer training and occasional newsletter articles. Share updates and positive stories on CCW's social media. Carry food and supply boxes weighing up to 25 pounds Minimum Qualifications 1+ year of paid work (or 2+ years of volunteer experience) working with youth Ability to work well as a member of a team Basic Maintenance Skills and Tool Usage Knowledge Self-starter with ability to work with minimal direction from a lead Preferred Experience 2+ years in any Christian ministry. 2+ years working with youth. 2+ years working with marginalized populations.
