Job Description
Esperanza en Escalante is a Tucson-based nonprofit serving veterans experiencing homelessness and addiction challenges. As part of Arizona's inaugural Homes for Heroes program, we are launching a new on-campus addictions recovery program for veterans — and we're building our team. We're hiring Residential Assistants for multiple shifts to provide safe, supportive, 24/7 coverage across our recovery and transitional housing programs. About the Role Residential Assistants are shift-based staff who provide consistent supervision and support to residents in recovery. Weekday evening and overnight staff help veterans transition from structured programming into their personal time and build healthy nighttime routines. Weekend and holiday staff maintain a safe, engaging environment — facilitating activities like movies, cooking, games, and gardening — while clinical staff are off-campus. All positions also provide basic coverage for our transitional housing program. Responsibilities Monitor resident safety and well-being throughout the shift. Respond to resident needs and behavioral concerns in a calm, supportive manner. Uphold the drug- and alcohol-free program environment. Complete shift logs, wellness checks, and incident documentation accurately. Support residents in building daily routines aligned with their recovery goals.
