This position's weekly hours are: Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Monday and Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Responsibilities Supervise residents to ensure safety, proper behavior management, and adherence to house rules Respond promptly to emergencies or behavioral crises with effective crisis intervention techniques Conduct intake assessments Monitor security by controlling access points, conducting routine patrols, and reporting any suspicious activity Facilitate communication between residents and staff to ensure coordinated care Qualifications Supervising experience in residential settings preferred Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to handle conflicts calmly and effectively Knowledge of addiction counseling, behavioral health practices, and social work principles preferred Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents, families, and team members Ability to perform first aid and respond appropriately in emergency situations Familiarity with data collection, filing systems, and basic administrative tasks such as data entry and record keeping Experience with Microsoft 365 preferred Duties and responsibilities Supervision of resident activities for two Middletown locations 1. Ensures assigned chores are completed by residents. 2. Ensures accessibility to food storage pantry, if necessary. 3. Ensures curfew and other house rules are enforced. 4. Ensures support is provided to residents and makes appropriate referrals. 5. Performs safety and security checks are performed at designated times. 6. Performs bed checks at designated times. 7. Performs bedroom checks to assure cleanliness and organization. 8. Transports residents to approved appointments and destinations, reports any passenger rule violations or incidents. 9. Assist with daily incoming donations and visitors 10. Communicates with the Deputy Director, Operations Manager and Case Manager regarding resident observations or issues as necessary. 11. Assists Deputy Director, Operations Manager and Case Manager as requested. 12. Proactively reports pending resident issues to Operations Supervisor. 13. Performs intake duties (search belongings, ensure all cloth is washed, ensures all cloth is placed in bed bug system, give tour of facility, etc.) 14. Conduct urine analysis and breathalyzer tests as needed or as directed. 15. Conduct contraband checks as needed or as directed. 16. Monitor food pantry and storage. 17. Records events promptly, accurately, and clearly in log book. 18. Ensures residents utilize sign in/out procedures. 19. Ensures that residents follow emergency procedures in case of an emergency. 20. Conducts a daily check of the facility to ensure unnecessary lights are off, all appliances are turned off and windows and doors are secure. 21. When directed, conducts training of new HM 22. Documents training of HM 23. Provides feedback to the Operations Supervisor regarding training of new HM 1. Models appropriate behavior. 2. Represents shelter in a positive manner when greeting visitors, board members, etc. 3. Observes professional guidelines. 4. Contributes observations and ideas for improving policies and procedures pertaining to the daily operation of the shelter.
