Job Description

Job Title:
HVAC Comfort Advisor Location:
Based out of our Waipahu office; travel to customer homes across Oʻahu
Employment Type:
Full-Time — Commission-Only, W-2 Employee About Us Oʻahu Electric and Air is a locally owned electrical and HVAC contracting company serving homeowners across the island of Oʻahu. We're a licensed contractor (CT-39238) and a Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor and Fujitsu Elite dealer, known for helping local families beat Hawaii's heat and humidity with reliable, energy-efficient comfort systems. As we grow, we're looking for an experienced HVAC sales professional to help even more Oʻahu families breathe easier. Position Overview As an HVAC Comfort Advisor, you'll meet with homeowners in their homes for pre-set, company-provided appointments, assess their cooling and comfort needs, and design and present HVAC system solutions that fit their home and budget. This is a high-earning, commission-only opportunity for someone who already knows HVAC equipment and knows how to close. We provide the leads — you bring the HVAC expertise and the close. What You'll Do Run in-home consultations from company-provided, pre-qualified leads (no cold-calling or self-generated lead requirements) Evaluate existing systems, ductwork, and home conditions to recommend the right cooling and dehumidification solution for Hawaii's climate Present tiered system options (good/better/best) using our pricebook, clearly explaining performance, efficiency, and value Build accurate, professional proposals and close sales on the spot or with prompt follow-up Coordinate handoff details with our install and operations team for a smooth customer experience Maintain accurate opportunity and customer records in our CRM (Housecall Pro) Represent OEA professionally in customers' homes — on time, in company attire, in a company-appropriate vehicle What We're Looking For Prior HVAC industry experience required — as an HVAC technician, installer, estimator, or HVAC sales/comfort advisor Comfortable discussing system types, SEER ratings, ductless vs. ducted options, and Hawaii-specific considerations like humidity control and salt-air durability without needing to be trained on the basics Proven track record of closing in-home sales, ideally in HVAC, solar, roofing, or another home-services field Strong communication and presentation skills — able to build trust with homeowners quickly Comfortable with a fully commission-based pay structure and self-driven schedule Reliable personal vehicle and valid Hawaii driver's license (mileage/vehicle use per company policy) Basic computer/smartphone proficiency for CRM and proposal tools What Sets You Apart You can walk into a home and earn trust in the first five minutes You know your equipment cold and can speak to it without sounding scripted You close in the room, not "I'll follow up next week" You're motivated by uncapped upside, not a guaranteed paycheck Compensation & Growth Estimated annual earnings: $150,000 - $250,000, based on sales performance 8% commission on all sales 10% commission on all sales once you exceed $200,000 in sales in a single month No cap on what you can earn — the more you sell, the higher percentage you keep Benefits Health insurance Paid time off (PTO) 401(k) Company-provided phone and tablet Fuel card Why OEA Company-provided, pre-set appointments — spend your time selling, not prospecting Support from an experienced install and operations team Work with premium, in-demand product lines (Mitsubishi, Trane/RunTru, Fujitsu) Be part of a growing, locally owned Oʻahu company How to Apply Please submit your resume along with a short message about your HVAC background and your track record closing in-home sales. Oʻahu Electric and Air is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or any other protected status.
