Job Description

About the Position We are a Christian faith-based nonprofit ministry that provides residents with opportunities to grow personally, spiritually, and professionally. Our remodeling enterprise plays an important role in our mission by providing real-world work experience, career training, structure, and practical skills. We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual with a moderate to advanced remodeling experience who wants to grow into a leadership role while helping mentor and train residents participating in our Career Training Program. This is a hands-on working position. You will work alongside the remodeling crew and residents in the Career Training Program while helping teach practical construction and remodeling skills, develop good work habits, and create a productive and professional work environment. Faith, character, integrity, accountability, and personal growth are important parts of our ministry and the way we approach our work. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on residential remodeling experience with the knowledge and ability to perform a variety of remodeling and construction tasks
  • Is reliable and shows up consistently
  • Can perform drywall, painting, flooring, trim work, demolition, bathrooms, kitchens and general carpentry
  • Has natural leadership and mentoring ability
  • Is patient and willing to teach others practical job skills
  • Wants to learn how to lead crews and manage remodeling jobs
  • Is comfortable directing and working alongside 1-3 residents or crew members
  • Can communicate problems, jobsite issues, and material needs to management
  • Is motivated by advancement and increased responsibility
  • Takes pride in quality workmanship
  • Can work independently while also functioning well as part of a team
  • Has a strong work ethic, integrity, and a positive attitude
  • Is comfortable working in a faith-based nonprofit ministry environment
  • Has a valid driver's license with a good driving record Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the remodeling crew and residents participating in the Career Training Program
  • Provide hands-on instruction and guidance in basic remodeling and construction skills
  • Help residents develop good work habits, responsibility, accountability, and professionalism
  • Help organize daily work and clearly communicate assignments
  • Keep crew members and residents productive and focused throughout the workday
  • Ensure assigned work is completed correctly and meets company quality standards
  • Teach and demonstrate proper techniques for drywall, painting, flooring, trim work, demolition, and general carpentry
  • Report material needs, jobsite issues, and potential problems to management
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe, and professional jobsites
  • Communicate daily progress and project updates to management
  • Mentor and encourage residents as they develop practical skills and workplace experience
  • Lead by example through reliability, professionalism, integrity, work ethic, and quality workmanship
  • Help create a positive and respectful work environment consistent with the values and mission of the ministry
  • Gradually take on increased responsibility for organizing crews and independently leading smaller remodeling projects Opportunity for Growth This position is designed for someone who wants to grow both professionally and as a leader.

Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
