Job Description
Assistant Director of Residential Services Primary Functions:
- Assist in the overall management of Shared Living and ILS residential services, resulting in the provision of innovative, skilled, and effective services for Individuals supported.
- Function as a Mentor/Supervisor for Life Coaches, Shared Living Providers, and staff and assists in ensuring that Individuals self-defined personal, health and mental health; and physical, psychological, and emotional safety needs are always met.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and providing holistic, trauma informed, and person-centered therapeutic and skill building supports to assist Individuals in overcoming challenges and in reaching established goals and desired quality of life.
- Function as a liaison to DDS, families, and community-based resources.
- Assist in promoting self-determination and self-advocacy skills and ensure that Individuals' human rights are embraced and always upheld.
- Assist with training for Shared Living Providers and staff and attend staff meetings, ISP meetings, etc. as needed.
- Assist with scheduling of support staff and ensuring timely adherence to all reporting, recordkeeping, operational, and licensing requirements.
- Assist with proactive crisis prevention/intervention and provide weekend on call coverage every six weeks.
- Promote teamwork and a positive agency culture, defined by shared values, code of ethics, transparency, and a common purpose, which guides decision making and actions.
Experience:
Applicants must have experience in working with Individuals with various disabilities for a minimum of five years, preferably in settings which provide holistic and person-centered supports. Applicants should have experience supervising others; have participated in OQE licensing reviews; and are familiar with the DDS operational, reporting, and record keeping procedures. Applicants should also have experience with trauma-informed care, self-determination, and the delivery of person-centered supports. Experience with Shared Living settings preferred.Skills/ Qualities/ Knowledge:
- Substantial knowledge of case management responsibilities and various therapeutic and skill building approaches
- Substantial knowledge of DDS and OQE governing regulations and requirements
- High degree of flexibility, adaptability, organization, and attention to detail
- Solid mentoring/supervisory skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Exhibit excellent judgement, decision making, and problem solving skills
- Solid crisis prevention and intervention skills
- Demonstrate solid interpersonal skills and is consistent and dependable
- Works well independently and as part of a team

- Demonstrates initiative, commitment, and positive energy
- Valid Driver's license
