Company Overview Valley View School, Inc. is a dedicated therapeutic boarding school serving boys in grades 6-12 since 1970. Nestled on 215 acres of forest and rolling hills, our campus provides a nurturing environment that fosters growth through supportive interventions and high expectations, creating a structured and caring community for our students. Job Overview Valley View School is seeking dependable and caring Residential Staff for an awake overnight position. This role supports the safety, structure, and well-being of students during overnight hours in our therapeutic boarding school community. Valley View School is a small, relationship-based therapeutic boarding school in Central Massachusetts serving boys ages 10-15. Our residential staff play an important role in helping students feel safe, supported, and cared for while maintaining a structured and consistent environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, calm, responsible, and comfortable working with students in a residential school setting. Prior experience in residential care, education, youth work, or human services is helpful but not required. Responsibilities
- Serve as an adult role model for students
- Monitor dorms throughout the overnight shift
- Conduct hourly bed checks
- Complete hourly campus checks
- Respond calmly and appropriately to rare disruptions during the evening hours
- Maintain safety, supervision, and structure during overnight hours
- Attend required staff training sessions and meetings
- Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications
- Dependable, trustworthy, and responsible
- Ability to work overnight hours
- Able to remain awake and alert throughout the shift
- Calm and professional when responding to student needs
- Comfortable working around students and staff in a residential school setting
- Ability to follow procedures and communicate clearly with supervisors
