Join Our Team as a Residential Counselor - Youth Services in Plymouth, MA! Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people? As a Residential Counselor, you'll play a vital role in supporting youth who have experienced trauma or behavioral challenges. Working in a structured, therapeutic environment on a scenic 53-acre campus, you will help build a safe space where residents can develop skills, foster healthy relationships, and make meaningful progress. This hands-on position offers diverse shifts including overnights, evenings, and weekends, providing flexibility and growth opportunities. What You'll Do:
Supervise, guide, and offer emotional support to residents Build positive, trusting relationships with youth Lead recreational, educational, and skill-building activities Support daily routines and individualized treatment goals Use trauma-informed practices and verbal de-escalation techniques Respond safely to behavioral or emotional crises Assist in physical interventions when trained and necessary Document incidents, behaviors, and activities accurately Collaborate with clinical and residential team members Grow your skills through ongoing training and feedback sessions
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent At least one year of experience working with youth preferred Experience in residential care, behavioral health, or human services is a plus Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills Genuine interest in supporting youth with emotional or behavioral needs Ability to pass background checks, including CORI Valid government-issued
ID Work Schedule & Hours:
Various shifts including overnight, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
Pay:
Competitive pay rate of $20/hou
Driving Requirements:
Depending on your assignment, you may need to have a valid driver's license and access to a registered, insured vehicle. Some responsibilities may include transporting youth as part of your duties.
