The Latin American Health Alliance (LAHA) is a non-profit organization based in Worcester, Massachusetts, dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the Latinx community in Central Massachusetts. Our mission is to address health disparities by providing culturally competent services, including addiction recovery, healthcare access, and educational support. Through our flagship program, the Hector Reyes House, we offer a residential treatment facility specifically designed to meet the unique needs of Latino men struggling with substance use disorders. By integrating medical care, counseling, and life skills training, we empower individuals to achieve long-term recovery and reintegrate into the community as healthy, productive members.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Awake Overnight Recovery Specialist to join our multi-disciplinary team. This role ensures the safety and well-being of residents during overnight hours, providing support, monitoring activities, and maintaining program guidelines. This position is critical to upholding a therapeutic and secure environment for individuals in recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine rounds to ensure the safety and security of the facility and residents. Monitor and enforce program rules, addressing non-compliance appropriately. Provide support and guidance to residents during crises or emotional distress. Document nightly activities, incidents, and resident interactions in accordance with program protocols. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of common areas. Support medication management procedures, if applicable, ensuring compliance with program policies. Respond to emergencies in a calm and effective manner, following established protocols. Collaborate with the daytime team by communicating any concerns or notable observations. Other related tasks responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working in recovery programs, residential settings, or similar roles is highly desirable. Proficiency in electronic record-keeping systems or willingness to learn. Knowledge of addiction recovery principles and trauma-informed care is a plus. Ability to work compassionately with individuals in recovery and diverse populations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to remain awake, alert, and focused throughout the shift. Dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
