LIVE-IN PROGRAM ASSISTANTS SUMMARY

The Live-In Program Assistants provides immediate residential and therapeutic support to residents who currently residing in One More Chance Recovery housing program. They remain active in the clinical programming and work closely with the clinical team to facilitate semi-independent living for residents in recovery. The Live-In Program Assistants will reside and sleep at their designated housing unit house 5 days (Monday-Friday) a week for the duration of the position. The Live-In Program Assistant will remain on-call from 11:00pm - 7:00am in the event of a crisis with a resident in their step-down house. In addition to asleep overnight coverage, Live-In Program Assistants will receive additional hours at a 24/7 house if necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

Completion of CCAR and CPR/First Aid training. Must be at least 18 years old and demonstrate competency in working with adults with chronic and persistent substance related and co-occurring disorders. Positively referenced relevant work experience. Residential experience preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Live-In Program Assistant will be responsible for the following: Program Assist consumers in developing independent coping skills by referencing their individual treatment plan. Assist residents with their daily routine in regard to scheduling, cleaning, personal hygiene, home maintenance, and organization. Accurately and thoroughly communicate progress and/or regression to the clinical team. Encourage resident's participation in One More Chance Recovery's clinical programming. Communicate and coordinate directly with the Employment Specialist to help facilitate supported employment. Remain current with all clinical updates as referenced by the clinical team. Document resident's progress in their weekly progress note. Medical Observe resident administration of medication and complete necessary medication sign-off documentation as appropriate. Maintain locked medication and safety protocol as appropriate. Communicate directly with residents managing their own medication to ensure resident's confidence in their medication routine.

• Communicates all resident illnesses, injuries, and reports of illness to clinical team. Completes incident reports as needed. As needed, will accompany residents to medical appointments or assist them in obtaining emergency treatment. Community Guide residents in interacting positively with friends, peers, family, the community, staff and other professionals. Provide transportation for residents, as needed for errands including grocery shopping, medical appointments, banking, entertainment, and general community outings. The Live-In Recovery Coach is not required to provide transportation for all errands if a resident has their own vehicle and is permitted to drive. General Assure that residents have completed their daily chores and are engaged in the Second Chance II community. Provide an empowering, semi-independent environment for residents as they go through their recovery process and transition into independent living. Ensure that residents are dressed in clean and appropriate attire. Assure that residents are participating in meal preparation, laundry and household cleaning including their own bedrooms and the common areas. Coordinate the preparation of and actively participate with meals during scheduled hours. Implement posted cleaning schedules and/or or informal cleaning procedures as necessary. Conduct weekly house meetings. Conduct and document routine emergency preparedness drills, coordinating with the Operations Manager for follow-up. Handle all emergencies as they arise, coordinating with the Program Manager or Administrator On Call (AOC) as needed. Report any repairs or requests to the Operations Manager and Utility Associate to facilitate repair. Attend all required staff trainings and staff meetings as available. In the event of absence, will read the staff meeting minutes and follow up with the Program Manager and Operations Manager as necessary. Perform all job duties in accordance with established policies and procedures contained in the One More Chance Recovery Employee Handbook. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
