Job Description

Alternative Directions is a nonprofit community residential facility serving adult males involved in the criminal justice system. We offer reentry services to those leaving incarceration, and alternative to incarceration to those entering the criminal justice system. We offer a wide range of services in order to provide opportunities for our residents to make positive changes, ultimately reducing recidivism.
Job Summary:
We are seeking dependable individuals to work with the reentry population in a residential setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with clients in the criminal justice system or related field. However, transferable skills will be considered. (i.e. customer service, education, etc.) Demonstrated history working with diverse populations is ideal. This position has opportunity for advancement. Lead Residential and Residential Supervisor positions are selected from our Residential Advisors. Full time positions are selected from our part-time employees. Alternative Directions provides 24/7 supervision. Weekend and holiday coverage is needed, as well as second and third shift weekdays and weekends. Second shift hours are currently 3:30pm -12am. Third shift 11:45pm-7:45am.
Duties:
Provide supervision for program participants in a residential setting Enforce program rules and providing accountability in a firm, fair, and caring manner Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents Supervise residents in social and recreational activities Candidates must have: Ability to relate effectively with resident population, staff, and the community at large Demonstrated problem-solving skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal A valid Driver's License CPR certification or willingness to obtain This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
