Our mission is to empower survivors, promote safety, and create lasting social change through advocacy, education, and support services. Summary The overnight Residential Assistant (RA) position is responsible for supporting the daily operations of 180's domestic violence shelter by providing direct support to clients throughout their stay, handling crisis hotline calls, maintaining accurate documentation, enforcing shelter policies, coordinating housekeeping tasks, and responding to incidents. 3 shifts per week: Monday / Tuesday / Friday, 11p-8a Responsibilities Provide support and assistance to clients entering, residing in, and exiting the shelter. Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions and observations in the Shelter Log. Complete shift assignments and ensure proper documentation in the Shift Report. Enforce and uphold Shelter Agreement policies, procedures and rules. Maintain shelter housekeeping operations, including supervision of chores, menu planning, and organization and distribution of donations. Answer hotline calls, provide crisis intervention, conduct phone screenings, and offer information and referrals. Transport clients to/from appointments, services and other approved locations if needed. Notify the on-call supervisor of any emergencies, incidents, or accidents occurring during the shift. Maintain cleanliness and organization of staff areas, including offices and kitchen spaces. Attend scheduled staff meetings and training sessions. Arrange for timely coverage for scheduled shifts you are unable to fill. Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with organization policies and ethical standards, ensuring privacy in communications, documentation and interactions. Qualifications Able to work Monday / Tuesday / Friday, 11p-8a. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or related field preferred. Prior experience in a shelter, residential program, crisis intervention, or human services setting preferred. Ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism, empathy, good judgement, and knowledge of trauma informed care. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Basic computer skills for documenting and reporting requirements. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, families, service providers and others. Valid driver's license in good standing and the ability to transport clients as needed. Perform tasks on a computer with the ability to perform sedentary work for extended periods. Safely drive clients and travel to off-site locations as needed. Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
