Resident Assistant (RA) Intake House

Job Description

Tribalights Santa Fe Location 1pm-9pm The Resident Assistant (RA) at the Intake House serves as the primary frontline support for new residents entering the Tribalights community. The Bonita's Men's Intake House is the first step in our residential sober living program, requiring a safe, structured, and compassionate environment. The RA oversees day-to-day house operations, enforces house and blackout period rules, conducts random toxicology screens as needed, monitors medication storage, and supports residents through the critical transition into recovery housing. Key Responsibilities Resident Onboarding & Intakes Conduct thorough, professional intake procedures for new residents, including property/person searches for prohibited items and contraband. Review house rules, curfew guidelines, rights, and expectations with newly admitted residents to ensure immediate orientation. Complete all required intake documentation, inventory logs, and initial paperwork accurately and promptly. House Operations & Safety Perform regular room, property, and environmental safety inspections to maintain high standards of cleanliness and compliance. Administer and document random and scheduled toxicology screens (Urine Drug Screens and Breathalyzers) following chain-of-custody protocols. Supervise resident chore completion and assist with maintaining common areas and house supplies inventory. Complete hourly rounds on all residents. Monitor house safety systems (cameras, security doors, keypads) and perform headcounts during curfew hours. Resident Support & Crisis De-escalation Maintain a supportive, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented atmosphere while upholding firm accountability and boundaries. Utilize basic de-escalation techniques to resolve interpersonal conflicts among residents. Respond immediately to emergencies, medical incidents, or suspected substance use in accordance with facility protocol. Administer emergency response procedures, including Naloxone (Narcan) administration if necessary. Transport clients to and from IOP group sessions, grocery shopping, etc. Documentation & Team Communication Complete detailed shift logs, recording resident interactions, rule violations, attendance, and general house dynamics. Coordinate and communicate regularly with Case Managers, CSWs, and Leadership regarding resident progress or safety concerns. Complete Incident Reports immediately following any emergency, rule breach, or property issue.
Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required; prior experience working in behavioral health, addiction recovery, or residential care preferred. Recovery Status (if applicable): If in personal recovery, a minimum of 1-2 years of continuous, verifiable recovery is preferred.
Certifications:
First Aid/CPR certification and Naloxone (Narcan) training required (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Skills:
Strong boundaries, clear communication, trauma-informed approach, and basic computer proficiency for documentation.
Requirements:

Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
