A Residential Assistant or Advisor works in a residential mental health, long-term care, or substance abuse treatment facility and provides support for patients, including resolving conflicts, helping them adjust to their environment, and alleviating concerns. Performs inspections and assists with move-ins and facility programming.

Residential Advisor position is located in Dayton, Ohio, and is $17.36 per hour. The Residential Advisor reports to the Residential Living Manager and is responsible for providing proper guidance to students to ensure positive group living relations and achievement in the program. This role involves patrolling and monitoring dormitories, directing dorm activities, conducting group sessions, and supporting students in social skills and self-management development. Additional job duties may be assigned as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Determine, recommend, and arrange student visits to Counselors as needed. Direct and assist students in dorm activities and dormitory cleanup. Patrol and monitor dormitories and the center to ensure safety and proper student behavior; resolve potential or occurring problems. Assist with recreational activities for students on and off center as required. Prepare reports, pass lists, and other administrative correspondence relating to students. Recommend or requisition supplies to meet the needs of dorm living and ensure student safety. Conduct group sessions in accordance with schedule and maintain required documentation; participate in Career Preparation Period (CPP) activities as assigned. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices. Model, mentor, and monitor the positive normative culture of the center. Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Ability to promote Career Success Standards (CSS) by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions. Strong organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer proficiency.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in behavioral sciences preferred. Two years of related experience in counseling, social work, rehabilitation, vocational guidance, or working with youth.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to patrol and monitor dormitory and center facilities. Prolonged periods of walking and standing. Ability to lift and carry materials as needed.
