Job Description

Matt Talbot Residential Treatment focus' on developing personal integrity and esteem by committing to an alcohol and drug-free lifestyle. Our hope at Catholic Charities is to restore the human spirit and empower men and women to gain dignity from living a responsible and productive life, valuing themselves and others. At Matt Talbot Residential Treatment we also specialize in treating clients with a dual diagnosis of addiction and a mental health disorder, offering comprehensive treatment during a client's recovery journey. This position is a PRN Residential Assistant that will provide guidance and support to alcohol/drug dependent clients.

$20.00
Responsibilities :
Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland. Supervise alcohol/drug dependent clients; telephone rules; client's visitors and sign-in policies; enforce curfew and quiet hour policies. Ensure clients are transported to appointments and activities as assigned/necessary.
  • Provide client support and guidance. Perform de-escalation interventions with clients as needed.
  • Prepare documentation of services provided to clients. Operate and maintain program vehicle as instructed, if applicable. Administer urinalysis drug screens as needed. Prepare requisitions of inventory and supplies as requested. Assist with all procedures involved in supervision of client self-administration of medication.
  • Initiate start and/or end of daily activities.
Supervise the completion of client therapeutic work assignments. Supervise any medical emergencies that may arise and notify appropriate administrative staff. Manage all client planned activities on shift. Provide client guidance and support whenever necessary. Inspect clients returning from appointments for sobriety and administer breath/urine screens as appropriate. Document any client incidents and/or informal coaching using the appropriate instruments to do so.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands Travel throughout service area required for transporting clients to and from activities. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, navigate stairs on a frequent basis at work site for stocking shelves, working with clients and maintaining a safe environment. Reading, writing and finger dexterity to manage data entry, faxing, copying, answering phones, forms/documents, computer and client files required on a frequent basis. Tasks require visual perception and discernment for collecting urine and looking through belongings on an occasional basis. Respond to crises as they occur on the floor by quick and spontaneous whole-body movements (walking, bending, standing, pushing, pulling) to perform de-escalation with clients on a frequent basis.
Requirements:
Combination of experience and education normally represented by a High School Diploma or equivalent with one year's experience in chemical dependency treatment program. Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire. Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License, provide copy of driver's license, and are subject to a Moving Vehicle Report (MVR) check through the Department of Motor Vehicles annually. Any MVR grade of "unacceptable" is not permitted to operate a personal/company vehicle on behalf of Catholic Charities. Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships. Must have good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to take direction well and respectfully respond to the needs of others. Must have good computer skills and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office. Experience working with a team of professional staff desirable. Must be flexible and willing to be a team player in assisting program implementation (including shift coverage). Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
