Job Description
Job purpose The part-time Residential Counselor is responsible for providing on-site supervision and support for residents of Ralph Moses House (RMH). RMH is a transitional housing facility that accommodates up to 10 formerly-homeless, adult males for a period of 3 to 6 months. The program provides assistance with obtaining and maintaining affordable housing in the community. While at RMH, residents work on obtaining income and life skills necessary for independent living. Duties and responsibilities Provide on-site supervision and support of residents in 8-hour shifts (to include overnight and weekend shifts). Enforce program rules as stated in the Program Handbook. Maintain a log book of significant residents interactions or incidents within the facility that occur during your shift. Monitor work schedules of residents - the residents will be responsible for notifying RC of all changes to their work schedule. Provide guidance for residents to complete assigned tasks/chores within the facility. Assist participants with meal preparation (and other life skills) as needed. Maintain a friendly, professional relationship with all staff and residents. Provide conflict resolution between residents as needed. Work closely with the Program Coordinator to support the residents in their Individual Success Plans with a focus on housing and life skill development. Answer phones and direct calls Other duties as assigned.
