Job Description
Come Join Our Team! The Undergraduate Intern will assist program staff in supporting residents with the development of daily living skills, participate in resident group meetings, help maintain site safety and cleanliness, and complete required documentation. The intern will gain hands-on experience in recovery principles, case management, and supportive services under supervision.

A supportive work environmentWhat You BringCurrent enrollment in a bachelors program in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, or a related human services discipline Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skillsAbility to use a computer to view information and document observationsBasic understanding of recovery principles and a willingness to learnAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to perform the physical requirements of the internship, with or without accommodation.
Learning Objectives/Departmental ExpectationsShadow residential staff as they support residents in daily routines, skill building, and recovery activities in the residence and community.
Observe therapeutic interactions, group meetings, serviceplanning processes, and team case discussions.
Observe crisisresponse procedures to understand safety, deescalation, and emergency protocols.
Develop effective communication skills to help residents feel heard, respected, and supported.
Strengthen professional behavior, boundaries, and teamwork skills essential to human services work.
Participate in social, recreational, and communityintegration activities that promote engagement and independence.
Complete required trainings to build knowledge of recoveryoriented practice, behavioral health, crisis intervention, and ethics.
Learn to document resident interactions and services accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).Attend staff meetings and training to understand how the residential program functions within the broader behavioral health system.
Interact with multidisciplinary professionals committed to compassionate, comprehensive resident care.
Experience resident interactions across varying levels of need, motivation, and independence.
Contribute to a clean, safe, recoveryfocused residential environment.
