//policies.dartmouth.edu/policy/tobacco-free-policy Additional Instructions Quick Link https://searchjobs.dartmouth.edu/postings/84512 Key Accountabilities Description House and Program Administration•Oversees day-to-day administration of an undergraduate residential community housing approximately 350-850 students through the management of all programs and initiatives, community events, staff, student concerns, facilities, administration, and relevant services. Provides counsel, advising, mediation, referral, and resources for resident students regarding personal and academic matters. Establishes community programming goals and directs, coordinates, supports, and evaluates student staff programming efforts. Attends meetings, programs and responds to emergencies in all physical spaces and primarily within assigned residential area(s). Collaborates with House Professors, Living Learning advisors and other faculty to implement the residential house model and living learning programs. Facilitates the development of a shared sense of identity and community in assigned residential area; collaborates with other stakeholders to establish a defined, common experience, including the establishment of traditions, symbols, and other methods of creating a sense of identity. Coordinates the residential leadership team in area of responsibility, including meeting regularly with the house professor, graduate students, program coordinators, student leaders, and other key stakeholders to support the house program and other residential programs. Advises student leadership groups in assigned residential community. Develops and fosters the involvement of students and other house members who are not residing in their house. Collaborates with academic centers and departments to facilitate academic engagement and coordinate programming/involvement in the residential communities. Percentage Of Time 30 Description Supervision•Trains, supervises, and evaluates 10-20 undergraduate student staff. Supervises 4 graduate students, working in collaboration with other stakeholders such as House Professors and Living Learning program advisors to facilitate involvement of graduate staff in the residential program. Collaborates with Residential Education staff to select, place, and train approximately 150 undergraduate students and 24 graduate students each year. Implements a continuing education program for student staff and provides professional development opportunities to undergraduate staff. Percentage Of Time 30 Description Housing and Operations•Manages and implements opening and closing processes for assigned buildings each term in partnership with Residential Operations and the Housing Office. Collaborates with Residential Operations staff (including building custodians) to maintain residential facilities. Reports and investigates damage, vandalism, and facilities problems. Participates in the housing assignment process, collaborates with Housing Office staff to maintain up-to-date housing assignment information, and assists with the resolution of issues and problems associated with room assignments and roommate conflicts. Collaborates with other departments and offices to ensure that the facilities and space reservation processes support the programmatic needs of the assigned residential area. Percentage Of Time 5 Description Student Support and Conduct•Participates in the campus-wide case management system and submits reports through Maxient database and reporting system. Participates in situational case management meetings as needed. Serves as a college hearing officer. Works in conjunction with the Undergraduate Judicial Affairs Office and utilizes the Maxient software system to administer the hearing process. Coordinates the education of residents regarding college standards and policies. Responds to and follows up on crises, emergencies, and concerning student behavior at the hall/community level. Trains and oversees student staff in their use of the Maxient reporting system. Independently and in conjunction with student staff, conducts outreach activities to resident students. Serves in the campus-wide Assistant Director on call rotation and responds to student crises and critical issues as needed. Percentage Of Time 10 Description Budget and Administration•Maintains residential community student staff budget, adhering to College purchasing procedures and other policies. Collaborates to administer residential college budget with House Professor and Program Coordinator Percentage Of Time 5 Description Other•Manages specific departmental programs and initiatives as assigned and may chair relevant committees, such as the following: UGA Selection; UGA Training; First-Year Residential Experience Program; Living-Learning and Affinity Programs; House Programs; End-of-Year Celebration; Continuing Education. Completes departmental projects as assigned. Serves as a visible and active representative of Residential Life within the residential and campus community. Attends Dartmouth professional training programs and participates in appropriate professional organizations, conferences, and research activities to remain current in the field. Actively pursues opportunities to establish and maintain professional network and formally present information to colleagues. Supports and coordinates student involvement in institutional events, such as Student Orientation, Commencement, Homecoming, Dimensions, Winter Carnival, and similar events. Serves as appropriate or appointed on departmental, divisional, and institutional committees. Communicates respectfully with a diverse community and promotes and strengthens inclusivity and diversity awareness in the residence halls.
