Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in assisted living, memory care, and long-term care environments. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) while ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration. Support residents in maintaining their independence while providing necessary assistance with mobility and personal hygiene. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in residents' conditions using EMR systems. Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their emotional well-being. Implement behavior management techniques as needed to support residents with developmental disabilities or dementia. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties as required. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each resident. Drive residents to appointments or community outings as needed, ensuring their safety during transport. Requirements Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is preferred. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory care practices is a plus. Knowledge of first aid procedures and vital sign monitoring is essential. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly desirable. Ability to operate a Hoyer lift and assist with mobility needs of residents. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. A compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in providing quality care to seniors. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
