Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Resident Assistant in our vibrant senior living and memory care community! In this rewarding role, you will provide compassionate support to residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your energy and attentiveness will help foster a warm, engaging environment where residents feel valued and cared for. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities while developing your skills in long-term care, assisted living, and specialized dementia care. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor and record vital signs regularly to ensure residents' health stability. Support medication administration following prescribed protocols and document accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Provide companionship and social engagement to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition for residents with specific dietary needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control standards. Support residents during outings or transportation needs, including driving when qualified and authorized. Implement behavior management techniques for residents with dementia or developmental disabilities to promote safety and comfort. Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to coordinate personalized care plans. Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, and dementia-specific interventions. Certification in First Aid and CPR required; additional certifications such as medication administration or Hoyer lift training are a plus. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly desirable. Ability to accurately monitor vital signs and recognize signs of health deterioration. Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach to resident support. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
