Job Description
Job Summary The Residential Support Advocate provides direct support, safety, and advocacy to survivors of interpersonal violence and their children in a communal living environment. This role includes facilitating crisis intervention, safety planning, and conflict resolution, while maintaining a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed space. Advocates assist residents with daily needs, connect them with community resources, uphold shelter policies, and contribute to a respectful and empowering atmosphere that supports healing and independence. This position requires compassion, discretion, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to respond calmly in crisis situations. Peace House provides comprehensive training on domestic violence, sexual assault as well as many other topics pertinent to working with survivors and promoting the safety of those we serve and our community.
Primary Responsibilities Direct Client Services:
- Answering hotline/helpline calls
- Offering services
- Providing referrals
- Crisis de-escalation and management
- Facilitating client intakes and exits
- Reinforcement of shelter guidelines
Housing Facilities:
- Minor shelter maintenance and cleaning
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Monitoring security
- Each advocate may have additional individual facilities responsibilities assigned based on strengths
Record Keeping and Data Entry:
- Enter client records and program data
- Monitoring client files
- Documentation of all client interactions
- Training documentation
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
: 1) Must pass a background check as required for state licensing 2) High School Diploma 3) First Aid/CPR certification or ability to become certified 4) Computer LiteracyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Passionate about facilitation real and lasting change in the lives of others
- Bi-lingual (Spanish preferred)
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 per weekBenefits:
