Job Summary The ILS Life Coach is dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized services that support clients' independence and well being. This role fosters client partnerships, exhibits leadership within service teams, promotes effective communication, and contributes to the growth of both individuals and the organization. Qualifications and Requirements Education and Experience High School Diploma or higher, plus one of the following: 2+ years of relevant experience in roles such as teacher, coach, paid mentor/trainer, or 5+ years of experience in similar roles without a degree requirement. Transportation Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record (DMV printout required). Reliable vehicle available for use during shift hours, with valid insurance for the vehicle and passengers. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in state and federal laws concerning Adult Protection, Developmental Disabilities, and Vulnerable Adults. Familiarity with mental health issues, social work principles, adult education, and training techniques. Knowledge of healthcare practices, home management, emergency preparedness, and nutrition. Understanding of developmental disabilities, behavioral support, and client advocacy. Strong record-keeping skills, effective communication, and conflict mediation abilities. Skilled in interpersonal relationships, individual and group behavior, and community resource knowledge. Ability to analyze complex situations, negotiate case plans, and evaluate outcomes. Organizational skills and deadline management in a dynamic environment. Proficiency in digital tools and the use of technology to enhance service delivery. Bilingual ( Spanish) Other Requirements Tuberculosis clearance. Successful criminal background check via fingerprint clearance. Demonstrated punctuality, reliability, and consistent work attendance. Acceptable DMV report and DOJ background check. Key Responsibilities Foster Strong Client Partnerships Address Challenging Situations Utilize community and generic resources knowledge to support client access to services. Effective Communication Maintain open communication with stakeholders, including clients, supervisors, and ILS team. Complete required documentation accurately and meet all reporting and compliance deadlines. Maintain detailed daily notes and keep client files up to date. Act as a Mandated Reporter, protecting confidentiality while addressing concerns. Exemplify Leadership Demonstrate Sentry Living Solutions' values and encourage client independence. Maximize coaching time through efficient management and adherence to policies. Model positivity, flexibility, and accountability, promoting team unity. Use digital tools for effective scheduling and time management. Contribute to Organizational Growth Physical Demands Frequent activities include sitting, standing, walking, and using hands for equipment operation. Occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color distinction, night vision, and focus adjustment. Safe driving and vehicle operation are essential. Work Environment Work occurs in a mix of office, community, and client home settings. Adaptability to varying weather conditions and noise levels is necessary. Possible exposure to contagious illnesses and challenging environments. Significant driving time is expected.
Pay:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour
