INSTRUCTORS, EDUCATORS & TEACHING ASSISTANTS, BEHAVIORAL SPECIALIST
for part-time positions with the opportunity for full-time in the Santa Clarita area.
PASSPORT TO LEARNING, INC.
is seeking social services instructors, educators, teaching assistants and behavioral specialist with backgrounds in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or Education to work part-time and/or work full-time with people who have intellectual disabilities. Social services work is conducted in the clients' home environment and in the community to establish positive routines and functional skill development for the enhancement of the clients' daily living skills. Additionally, the social services instuctors educators, teaching assistants and behavioral specialist will provide training and guidance to clients in a mentor-style relationship for the attainment of personal goals. Only social services candidates residing within 20 miles of one of the specified service areas will be considered for a position. Must be available to meet with clients in their communities to provide skills training, attend social services meetings, and medical appointments several times a month. Must attend meetings at one of Passport To Learning's offices located in Antelope Valley to submit progress documentation, attend staff meetings, training, supervision, and client QA meetings. On the job training is provided.

PASSPORT TO LEARNING, INC.
(PTL) is dedicated to serving a community of individuals with intellectual disabilities who need assistance in adapting to meet age-specific developmental milestones. Independent Living Skills (ILS) and Adaptive Skills Training (AST) is a functional skills education and support service for individuals with Autism, MMR, Down Syndrome, and other intellectual disabilities to increase their daily living skills at home and in the community. Parenting Support Services (PSS) work one-to-one with 'special need' parents in a mentor-style / instructor relationship to teaching parenting skills. The Judicially Involved -Adaptive Living Skills program (ALS) provides support and guidance to clients in a mentor-style relationship to foster self-esteem and to assist clients in becoming productive and confident members of society.
  • Compensation:
    $30.00-$32.00 per hour based on qualifications and the job, travel time at the minimum wage rate plus mileage reimbursement at $0.72.5/mile.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The instructor shall hold a master's degree or bachelor's degree in one of the following education, psychology, counseling, nursing, social work, ABA, behavioral medicine, speech and language, rehabilitation marriage and family therapy or a comparable degree in a human services degree such as social sciences, human services, education, or teacher's assistant or a related field.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Reliable transportation is a must. Valid California Driver's License, Automotive Insurance, and CPR/ 1st Aid are required. A background clearance is required, including a 3-year Motor Vehicle Report.

$30.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 35.0 per week
