In this empowering role, you will leverage your lived experience and professional skills to support individuals navigating behavioral health challenges, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions. Your energetic approach will inspire hope, foster resilience, and promote recovery through personalized peer support, crisis intervention, and motivational techniques. This flexible position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working independently within a collaborative environment dedicated to mental health and addiction recovery. QBHA is preferred, but not required. Responsibilities Provide peer support advocacy by sharing personal recovery experiences to motivate and empower clients. Conduct client assessments using motivational interviewing techniques to identify needs and develop tailored recovery plans. Offer crisis management and intervention during urgent situations, ensuring safety and stabilization for clients experiencing mental health or substance use crises. Implement harm reduction strategies to promote safer behaviors and reduce risks associated with substance use. Maintain strict confidentiality of client information in accordance with privacy laws and ethical standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams using electronic health record (EHR) systems to document progress, treatment plans, and incident reports accurately. Engage with culturally diverse communities to ensure respectful, inclusive support that respects individual backgrounds and experiences. Skills Strong crisis management and crisis intervention capabilities to handle emergency situations effectively. Deep understanding of behavioral health, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, and social work principles. Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Skilled in mentoring, client communication, and peer support advocacy to foster trust and engagement. Knowledge of harm reduction practices and motivational interviewing techniques to facilitate positive behavioral change. Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations while maintaining cultural sensitivity. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and reporting purposes.
