Responsibilities Provide peer support advocacy by sharing personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and motivation. Conduct client assessments to identify needs related to substance use, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders. Develop individualized recovery plans utilizing motivational interviewing and harm reduction techniques. Offer crisis management and crisis intervention to de-escalate situations and ensure client safety. Maintain strict confidentiality of client information while documenting progress in electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and connect clients with additional behavioral health resources. Mentor clients through ongoing support, skill-building activities, and behavioral health education tailored to diverse cultural backgrounds. Skills Strong crisis management and crisis intervention skills to handle urgent situations effectively. Deep understanding of behavioral health, addiction counseling, mental health counseling, and social work principles. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Proficiency in motivational interviewing, harm reduction strategies, and client communication techniques. Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse communities, demonstrating sensitivity and respect for different backgrounds. Skilled in mentoring, peer support advocacy, and sharing personal recovery experiences to foster trust. Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and case management purposes. Completed the Recovery Coach Course and ethics training.
