Job Description

Company Overview The Old Colony YMCA is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to fostering strong spirits, minds, and bodies within our communities. Guided by Judeo-Christian principles, we focus on nurturing youth, promoting healthy living, and encouraging social responsibility to create lasting positive change. Job Summary The Old Colony YMCA's Community Based Program is looking for energetic and flexible Outreach Workers who have a passion to make a difference for children and families in our communities for our new Comprehensive Family Programs! The capacity to balance both treatment oriented support to youth and their parents/caretakers, and casework documentation and outreach responsibilities for youth who are involved with the Department of Children and Families is essential. We are looking for either 1 full-time (40 hours /week) or 2 part-time (20 hours/week) Outreach Worker(s). The Outreach Worker should feel comfortable working independently and as part of a team with a Clinician, other youth and family support staff in both an adolescent group environment and with a caseload of assigned individual consumers. The ability to build a strong rapport and communicate with youth, families, state agency workers, and collateral resources in person and by phone is necessary.
Typical job responsibilities include:
  • Daily driving with youth/families to complete program tasks (mileage reimbursed)
  • Flexible scheduling to include working weekdays, early evenings and some weekends
  • Ability to communicate with youth, families and collateral resources in person, phone calls and emails
  • Assist clinicians in developing goals and treatment plans
  • Ensure documentation on goals, treatment plans, activities, meetings, etc. is recorded utilizing the DCF Virtual Gateway system in a timely manner
  • Participate in staff development meetings, inter agency meetings, supervision and training
  • Share in the on-call coverage for the program Education and experience requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Human Service with experience or minimum 5 years related experience human service experience with children and families
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competent commuter and data entry skills
  • Clean driving record, own a vehicle with current insurance and transport clients/families to meet the program needs (mileage reimbursement) Join us in making a difference!

Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
