Started in 1999, the vision of the program is to provide innovative, comprehensive services that promote maximum patient rehabilitation resulting in them being productive members of the community capable of managing their lives in a positive manner. Biomed is a privately held company with a workforce of approximately 60 people operating in two locations. We continue to make significant investment in the future of our patients and company and we would like you to be a key player as we continue to expand in support of our communities. We are looking for talented people to be part of our team that will collectively work to accomplish both current and future patient and company objectives. The essential duties of a Peer Recovery Coach include but are not limited to the following:
  • Work closely with the client to develop a personal wellness plan.
  • Support clients in making positive life changes and developing skills to facilitate their recovery.
  • Assist clients in creating personally meaningful links to treatment and peer recovery support services.
  • Serves as an advocate for clients and assist them in learning self-advocacy skills.
  • Help clients to discuss and try new strategies for developing recovery supportive friendships, reconnecting or improving family relationships and identifying and using community recovery networks.
  • Ensure client's progress notes, wellness plans and other required documentation is completed professionally, timely and accurately.
  • Attend trainings as required by supervisor.
  • Project the ethical values, mission and vision of Biomed by providing peer recovery techniques in the form of case management to the patient population.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • CCAR training with 2-years in recovery.
  • Certified Peer Recovery Mentor (CPRM) through Michigan Certified Board of Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-years experience preferred.
  • Actively working a recovery program (12-step, church/spiritual, or other qualified recovery program).
  • Participate in ongoing internal and external training to maintain proficiency in current trends relative to providing quality to persons served.
  • Complete required training courses of Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery, Personal Safety, Confidentiality, Relapse Prevention, Cultural Competency, Recipient Rights, and Communicable Disease/HIV Level 1 during employment.
  • Have a valid Michigan Drivers License, reliable transportation and must submit proof of active automobile insurance.
  • Meet with immediate supervisor for individual supervision weekly to discuss cases in which they provide coaching.
  • Enter progress notes into SMART computer system.
  • Confidence with "can do" attitude.
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills; a genuine team player with collaborative style.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Customer focused.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadline

  • 4:30 PM.
  • Compensation commensurate with credentials, skills and experience.
