A Social or Human Services Assistant assists with identifying and arranging community services for clients. Works with social workers and other human services professionals. Helps with rehabilitation for people with disabilities or those in recovery, or coordinates home care services for the elderly; may also coordinate housing or job training assistance for immigrants, veterans, former inmates or families in crisis.
The Donation Support Coordinator will oversee the In-Kind Donations Program, including donations from community members, corporations, and community groups. The Donation Support Coordinator will coordinate with departments throughout the International Institute to define and track their in-kind donation needs and follow up on in-kind donation opportunities. supporting various volunteer and community engagements, and agency events. Essential Responsibilities:
1. (40%) Oversee the In-Kind Donation Program. This work may include but is not limited to: Respond to inquiries about potential in-kind donations to the International Institute. Identify in-kind donations to the benefit of the agency and its clients; refer people to appropriate non-profit partners when needed. Create and implement systems for allocating donated items. Keep the donation room and other donation areas tidy and organized, clear donated items from drop-off points. Maintain records of in-kind donations; provide summarized data for quarterly and annual reports. Assist with coordinating In-Kind Donation Program volunteers. Collaborate with agency staff to identify program needs; follow-up on in-kind donation requests from agency programs. Follow up on inquiries about donation drives; work alongside corporate and other community partners to coordinate donation drives, onsite or offsite. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, and changes in refugee resettlement and immigrant services, including St. Louis resources for household items, to better connect clients with resources. Reach out to community partners to garner new donations; research corporations and foundations for future resources. Assist in the development of grant applications and proposals involving in-kind donations. Continually review and adapt In-Kind Donation Program in response to changing circumstances. 2. (50%) Corporate Relations/Community Engagement . This work may include but is not limited to: Maintain knowledge about the agency and represent the agency, its mission, and goals to members of the community. Assist with corporate and other group engagements, including presentations, tours, and volunteer service days, both onsite and offsite. Engage with the community at offsite tabling events. Collaborate with interns. Assist with development related tasks, including thanking donors and tracking donor contributions. Assist with in-kind sponsorships for events; assist with other aspects of agency events as assigned. Identify, develop, and maintain community relationships to the benefit of the agency. Support the Festival of Nations (last full weekend in August). Performing other assigned duties as necessary for the successful operation of the organization.
