The Life Enrichment Specialist is responsible for fostering social, intellectual, and occupational wellness by creating opportunities for social connectedness, meaningful engagement, lifelong learning, and community involvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word preferred. Some experience working with the senior or aging population recommended; has a passion to work with elders. Moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis. May push residents in wheelchairs as needed. Is able to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language; has the ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Is able and willing to work independently with flexibility and integrity, as well as effectively and harmoniously with team members, clients, family members, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must be fully up-to-date with required vaccinations. As a Life Enrichment Specialist you can expect to: Approaches all job duties through the organization's commitment to our whole-person well being eight dimension model. Serves as a key member of the Affordable Living Resident Support Team Plan and facilitate group programs, activities, and special events. Encourage resident participation and peer engagement. Support volunteer initiatives and resident committees. Promote opportunities that support lifelong learning and purposeful living. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident well-being. Foster meaningful relationships and community connections among residents. Assist with maintaining activity calendars and participation records. Support programs that enhance intellectual, emotional, occupational, social, and environmental wellness.
