QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, or related Human Services Field A minimum of 3 years proven supervisory or management experience is required. A minimum of 5 years working with youth. Experience working in a youth residential setting is preferred. Valid Florida Driver License. Understanding of adolescent behavior and family dynamics to interact and converse freely with others from a variety of backgrounds, especially at-risk youth and parents, without partiality or bias. Crisis intervention skills, and able to remain calm in crisis situations. Organizational skill, prioritize needs and manage simultaneous goals and objectives. Schedule and manage staff on a 24/7 work schedule. Carry out instructions in written, oral, and diagram forms. Computer skills Writing skills to document client service activity as required. Knowledge of the functions of various social and welfare agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs, develops, models, implements, and manages a positive youth centric environment to enhance youth service experience. Provides direct supervision to program staff by providing direction, support, and on-going training and development. Ensures operational adherence to policy, procedures, standards and Florida Administrative Code. Implements and monitors adherence to program specific standard operating procedures. Provides corrective teaching or staff supervision as may be appropriate. Conducts staff meetings on a monthly basis and maintains minutes from these meetings for audit and management review. Provides direct oversight and supervision of all medication administration practices to ensure safe and accurate medication administration, and policy compliance. Directly manages licensed nursing staff. Conducts regular reviews of Medication Administration Reports, to maintain accurate, up-to-date records for all youth medications. Conducts regular medication inventory and controlled substances audits Reviews and investigates medication-related incidents, ensuring corrective action and appropriate staff re-training. Schedules and coordinates staff training related to medication management practices. Ensures that programs and services meet or exceed all contractual requirements. Reviews and implements any program specific corrective action plans and provides ongoing monitoring to ensure that all appropriate actions are taken. Participates in the planning and coordination of all external evaluation efforts including licensure, DJJ/DCF quality assurance, and accreditation. Prepares and submits reports as required by internal procedure, contractual obligations and for general administrative purposes. Responsible for the enhancement, expansion, and development of program services related to the organizations' mission. Develops and maintains collaborative partnerships Represents organization in coalitions, task forces, and other entities. Develops and revises program procedures as needed. Research trends and best practices as they relate to creating opportunities for youth Conducts programmatic and organizational outreach, as required. Performs shared on call responsibility. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer and/or the President/CEO.
