Non-Exempt Position Summary The Teen Center Director is responsible for the overall leadership, daily operations, youth development, and program quality of the BGCCV Teen Center. This position leads staff and volunteers, builds relationships with teens and families, develops community partnerships, and ensures teens have access to safe, engaging, and meaningful programming. Key Responsibilities Teen Recruitment & Engagement Recruit and retain teen members and increase participation and average daily attendance. Build relationships with local schools, families, and community organizations. Develop programming based on teen interests, needs, and feedback. Program Leadership Plan and oversee high-quality programs for teens. Provide academic support, leadership opportunities, recreation, health and wellness activities, career exploration, and workforce-readiness experiences. Ensure teens are appropriately supervised, and behavioral expectations are maintained. Lead, train, and support Teen Center staff and volunteers. Facility & Operations Oversee the cleanliness, safety, organization, and overall condition of the Teen Center. Ensure Club equipment and property are properly maintained. Maintain accurate attendance and program participation records. Follow all BGCCV safety, youth protection, and operational policies. Community Partnerships Develop relationships with schools, businesses, nonprofits, colleges, and other organizations that support teens. Connect teens with career opportunities, internships, service projects, leadership experiences, and other community resources. Represent BGCCV at community events and meetings. Family & Organizational Support Maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians. Assist with marketing, special events, public speaking, and organizational initiatives. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required training. Support BGCCV's mission and strategic goals.
Qualifications Required:
Experience working with youth or teens. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. Ability to supervise and motivate staff and volunteers. Ability to build positive relationships with youth, families, and community partners. Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems effectively. Successful completion of required background screening and onboarding requirements.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in education, social work, youth development, recreation, nonprofit management, or related field. Two or more years of experience in youth development, nonprofit programming, education, or a related field. Previous supervisory or management experience. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Individuals working in this position need to be able to move around the facility, occasionally work outdoors, ascend, and descend stairs. Individuals need to be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Occasionally lift or move items and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to constantly utilize office technology (Computer, printer, copy machine, ect.)
