Job Summary:
The Director of Youth & Family Programming is responsible for the leadership, development, and execution of a comprehensive portfolio of youth and family programs designed to create engaging, safe, and memorable experiences for Club members and their families. This position provides strategic and operational leadership for youth programming throughout the year, including camps, seasonal activities, special events, family programming, and other youth-focused initiatives for ages ranging from 4 & up. The Director will continually evaluate existing programs and work with other Department heads to identify new opportunities that respond to member interests, strengthen family engagement, and enhance the overall Club experience for youth. The ideal candidate is an energetic, mature, warm, professional, organized, and creative leader who enjoys working with children and families while also possessing the operational discipline necessary to manage staffing, budgets, schedules, safety standards, and multiple programs simultaneously.

Education/Experience/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, child development, hospitality, sports management, or a related field preferred.
- Previous leadership experience in youth programming, camps, recreation, hospitality, private clubs, schools, or a related environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing programs and special events.
- Strong understanding of child supervision, safety, and risk-management practices. Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, members, team members, and Club leadership.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs and priorities simultaneously. Certifications
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification required or must be obtained within an established period following hire.
- Additional certifications in youth safety, childcare, or recreation are welcomed.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring a consistent visible presence at the Club. The schedule will vary based on the Club's programming calendar and will include evenings, weekends, holidays, and seasonal periods of increased activity. The Director is expected to balance administrative responsibilities with an active presence during programs and events to ensure appropriate supervision, team support, member engagement, and consistent execution of Club standards. Essential Duties/Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to: Program Leadership & Development Develop age-appropriate, engaging programming and activities across a variety of age groups and departments, incorporating recreation, enrichment, creativity, social engagement, and other experiences appropriate to the interests and developmental needs of participants. Lead the planning and execution of seasonal camps, school-break programming, family events, youth activities, and other Club programs related to youth. Evaluate existing programs for participation, member satisfaction, financial performance, and overall effectiveness. Coordinate program schedules and facility needs with other Club departments to maximize resources and minimize operational conflicts. Identify and introduce new programming opportunities based on member interests, industry trends, and Club needs. Partner with Club Communications to develop timely and engaging program communications and promotional strategies that increase awareness, participation, and enrollment in youth and family programming. Establish consistent programming standards and operating procedures to ensure a high quality experience across all youth and family offerings. Serve as the primary staff liaison to the Youth Committee, fostering a collaborative relationship between Club management and committee members. Attend Youth Committee meetings, provide updates on programming, participation, staffing, and upcoming initiatives, and assist in developing meeting agendas and follow-up items, conduct minute taking. Member & Family Engagement Build strong relationships with children, parents, and families and maintain a visible, approachable presence throughout Club programming. Actively solicit and evaluate member feedback to identify opportunities for program improvement. Communicate program information, policies, schedules, registration requirements, and changes clearly and professionally. Team Leadership Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, coach, evaluate, and, when necessary, address performance concerns for seasonal and year-round youth programming team members. Develop comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training for youth team members. Maintain appropriate staffing levels and staff-to-child ratios based on program needs and established safety standards. Maintain appropriate documentation related to staffing, certifications, training, incidents, and performance. Will act as the Manager on Duty based on the Club's business needs. Safety & Risk Management Maintain the highest standards for the safety and supervision of children participating in Club programs. Ensure compliance with applicable Club policies and local, state, and federal requirements. Develop, implement, and consistently enforce youth programming policies and procedures. Ensure team members receive appropriate training in emergency response, child supervision, and other required safety protocols. Partner with Club leadership, Security, Aquatics, Hockey, Facilities, and other departments to proactively identify and address potential safety concerns. Financial & Administrative Management Develop and manage annual operating budgets for youth and family programming. Manage program registration, rosters, attendance, billing coordination, and related administrative functions. Maintain accurate records and provide regular reporting regarding participation, program performance, staffing, and financial results. Provide Club leadership with recommendations regarding future programming, resources, staffing, and capital needs. Club Leadership & Collaboration Serve as an active member of the Club's management team and contribute to broader operational initiatives. Collaborate closely with department leaders to create cohesive experiences for members and families. Partner with Club Communications to develop timely and engaging program communications and promotional materials. Maintain awareness of trends and best practices in private clubs, recreation, camps, youth programming, and family engagement. Develop relationships with outside vendors, instructors, entertainers, and community partners when appropriate. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
