Job Description

Job Summary The Director of Social Services plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing social service programs aimed at enhancing the well-being of individuals and communities. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker who can develop, implement, and evaluate programs that address the needs of diverse population of facility residents. The Director will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and compliance with regulatory standards. Duties Coordinate with residents and surrounding facilities on resident discharge plans. Assist residents with their concerns and grievances and communicate concerns Oversee administrative functions including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Foster strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and clients to promote program awareness and collaboration. Conduct assessments to identify the needs of individuals receiving services, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place. Act as point of contact with hospitals for reserve bed programs Assist residents in getting state medical coverage in place Skills Strong knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices. Proven experience in program management, including development, implementation, and evaluation. Background in social work with an emphasis on working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff effectively. Strong administrative skills including budgeting and resource allocation. Exceptional relationship management skills to build partnerships within the community. Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operations effectively.
