SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Director in interviewing, hiring, and training employees: planning, assigning and directing work: supervising and evaluating employees: addressing complaints and resolving problems. Communicate with the Director of staff performance issues in a timely manner and assist in addressing said issues. Work Environment, Physical Demands and Child Safety:
This position may include a combination of in-office and remote work, based on operational needs. Workspace may be shared with other staff when on-site. All YMCA Staff are mandated by law to report child abuse and neglect to Child Protective Services. Such reports can be made verbally at 1-855-444-3911. Staff will also report suspected abuse or neglect to their supervisor, senior management, or Human Resources.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Day Camp and School Age Director, Youth Development Site Supervisor is responsible for specific aspects of the summer camp and school age programs including organization, implementation, and maintenance of program, participant development, staff development, and maintaining good public relations with parents, affiliate programs and participants. The Youth Development Site Supervisor works with designated staff to ensure a high-quality experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist Directors in the overall development of summer and school programs with an emphasis on age-appropriate programming. Create, distribute, and maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with state licensing and program requirements such as sign-in/check-out sheets, snack and meal counts, lesson plans, children enrollment attendance sheets, newsletters, etc. Manage and distribute all materials and supplies needed for planned activities and snacks. Develop positive relationships with the staff, families, and children while providing motivational support and guidance, including parent conferences and addressing complaints in a time efficient, courteous and patient manner using problem solving techniques. Ensure that the care of participants is a key priority through direct supervision of the programs and through support to staff. Build a professional collaboration with school administration and staff to develop programming that aligns with school and YMCA values, policies, and procedures. Exhibit and maintain professional communication with staff, school staff, and community participants. Serve as a role model for staff and participants. Assist with the hiring, training, monitoring of daily program quality standards and end-of-year performance evaluations. Understand and follow all relevant regulations including, but not limited to state licensing, YoungStar , DCF standards, CACFP/MCFI and YMCA policies/manuals. Be committed to the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee's Child Abuse/Neglect Prevention efforts as a mandatory reporter and always uphold the core values of the YMCA. Attend and all staff meetings and trainings as required. Be available for opening and closing shifts. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must meet all Child Care Licensing requirements including one of the following: bachelor's degree in child development, education, sports and recreation or related field from an accredited college/university OR DCF equivalent approved courses and Registry level for position. CPR and First Aid, Abusive Head Trauma must be completed before the first day of camp or within three months from start date of school age program. Must complete fingerprinting requirement prior to working first shift. Must have 2+ years' experience working in an organized child program. Must have 2+ years supervisory experience. Must have a reliable automobile, valid driver's license with proof of insurance. SKILLS and

Demonstrate initiative, good judgment and ability to work independently. Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work with diverse populations. Exhibit strong written, digital and oral communications skills. Must possess organizational skills and be able to manage multiple priorities. Ability to create a fun environment, be flexible and share enthusiasm with teachers, participants, families and community. Must be able to demonstrate understanding, patience, creativity, cooperation, common sense, and commitment when working with youth and their families. Proficient in computer operations that are necessary to perform job . Must be able to lift up to 40-50 pounds occasionally and up to 30 pounds frequently.
