Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Services Director to lead our social services programs and staff. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work, program development, and management, with a focus on serving individuals from underserved communities, including those with developmental disabilities and disabilities. As the Social Services Director, you will oversee program operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and foster a compassionate environment that promotes client well-being and community engagement. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through strategic leadership and innovative service delivery. Duties Provide leadership and oversight for social service programs, ensuring they meet community needs and organizational goals. Supervise, train, and support social service staff, including program coordinators and case managers, fostering professional growth and team cohesion. Develop, implement, and evaluate programs tailored to individuals with developmental disabilities and other underserved populations. Manage program budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure efficient resource allocation to maximize service delivery. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing social services programs. Cultivate relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and clients to enhance service effectiveness and outreach efforts. Oversee client communication processes to ensure respectful, transparent, and effective engagement. Lead technical projects related to program management systems or service delivery innovations to improve operational efficiency. Requirements Extensive experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities within social services settings. Proven leadership in social services administration with demonstrated success in managing teams and programs. Strong relationship management skills to build partnerships within diverse communities. Administrative experience including budgeting, reporting, and compliance oversight. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and communication tasks. Supervisory experience in managing social service program staff with an emphasis on team development. Knowledge of social work principles, program development strategies, and best practices in social services delivery. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse populations effectively. Excellent writing skills for report preparation and client documentation. Experience working with underserved communities or marginalized groups is preferred.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Work; or Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field, including Sociology, Gerontology, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or Special Education; and At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting working as a supervised social worker who provides direct services to individuals.
