Job Description

About Avenir Avenir is a private residential program in Orange County providing housing, supervision, and academic support for international high school students enrolled at leading Orange County private schools. We offer a small, structured home environment designed to help students thrive academically and personally while studying in the United States. The Role We are looking for a full-time, live-in House Parent to serve as the primary adult presence in our residence. This is a hands-on, people-first role — you'll be the consistent, trusted adult our students rely on for day-to-day guidance, structure, and support. You'll work closely with Avenir's leadership team and maintain regular communication with students' families overseas. Housing is provided as part of this role. What You'll Do Provide full-time live-in supervision for a small cohort of international high school students Manage daily routines — mornings, evenings, curfews, meals, and house expectations Coordinate student transportation to and from school Serve as the first point of contact for student issues, minor health matters, and day-to-day logistics Communicate updates and concerns to Avenir leadership and student families as needed Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive home environment Fulfill California mandatory reporting obligations as required by law What We're Looking For Prior experience working with teenagers, international students, or in a residential/boarding setting Maturity, reliability, and strong judgment — you're comfortable being the adult in the room Warm but structured approach; students should feel supported, not just managed Cross-cultural competence; ability to connect with students from international backgrounds Clean background check required CPR/First Aid certification a plus To Apply Submit your resume and a brief note on your background working with young people. We review applications on a rolling basis.
