Position Summary:
Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and people-focused Volunteer Coordinator to lead and grow our ReStore Volunteer Program. This position recruits, orients, schedules, trains, supports, and recognizes volunteers while creating an exceptional volunteer experience that advances Habitat's mission of building homes, community, and hope. This position requires a proactive, highly organized individual who takes ownership of program administration, identifies opportunities for process improvement, and contributes to the continued growth and success of Habitat's ReStore Volunteer program. Essential Functions- Recruit, schedule, orient, and support individual and group volunteers.
- Coordinate volunteer applications, registration, waivers, scheduling, and onboarding.
- Deliver engaging volunteer orientations, safety training, and ReStore tours.
- Maintain volunteer records using Salesforce and Microsoft 365.
- Coordinate volunteer assignments with the ReStore Management Team.
- Partner with the Director of Community Engagement and Fund Development to coordinate corporate volunteer events.
- Maintain volunteer calendars and communicate schedules across departments.
- Work with CVNL to coordinate court-referred volunteers in accordance with program agreements.
- Develop volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition initiatives.
- Maintain volunteer statistics and prepare reports and dashboards.
- Support volunteer appreciation events and outreach activities.
- Ensure volunteers comply with all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Volunteer management, customer service, nonprofit, or event coordination experience strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to speak comfortably to groups and represent Habitat professionally.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365; Salesforce experience a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable.
- Must successfully pass required background checks.
