Job Description
The Public Service Officer provides support to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office by performing non-sworn duties that promote public safety and community engagement. This position responds to non-emergency calls, assists in administrative tasks, and supports sworn personnel in delivering services that enhance trust and fosters positive relationships within the community. Conducts parking enforcement. Prepares reports and affidavits. Conducts dwelling, building, or grounds checks. Investigates traffic crashes and directs traffic around crashes, congested areas, and hazards. Testifies at trials, hearings, and depositions. Assist patrol with taking reports not involving felonies or suspects. All CCSO employees are considered essential emergency workers and are subject to working in any capacity/hours deemed necessary by the Agency during activations, including but not limited to, in-County and out-of-County deployments.
