Job Description

Job Summary Become a Positive Role Model We are looking for positive, dependable, and motivated individuals to mentor youth in the Ocala area . This is an entry-level opportunity in the social service field and is ideal for college students, recent college graduates, or individuals looking to gain hands-on experience working with youth. Our mentors serve as positive role models for at-risk youth , providing guidance, encouragement, and consistency while helping mentees develop important social and life skills. This is not a traditional desk job. Mentoring is community-based , allowing mentors to engage with youth outside of a typical office environment while working toward individualized mentoring goals. This is a paid position with a flexible schedule. Great Opportunity for College Students College students are strongly encouraged to apply. Build your résumé, develop valuable professional experience, and make a meaningful impact in your community while completing your education. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one mentoring to youth. Serve as a consistent and positive adult role model. Provide guidance, encouragement, and support. Help mentees strengthen social skills, communication, confidence, decision-making, and other important life skills. Encourage educational and personal development. Help mentees work toward individualized goals. Complete required documentation following mentoring sessions. Maintain professional communication with caregivers and members of the youth's support team. Requirements Must be 21 years of age or older. Must have reliable personal transportation. Must be able to pass required background screening. An Associate's Degree (A.A./A.S.) or higher is preferred, but not required. Current college students are strongly encouraged to apply. Previous experience working with youth through mentoring, coaching, tutoring, childcare, education, youth programs, or similar settings is a plus but not required. Candidates should be dependable, responsible, patient, energetic, and comfortable working independently in community-based settings. Availability We are currently seeking mentors for part-time contract opportunities , with the potential for additional hours based on availability and caseload. Because mentoring sessions often take place outside of traditional school hours, afternoon, evening, and weekend availability is highly preferred. Schedules are flexible and can work well around college classes, another job, or other commitments.
