Strengthen Communities. Support Housing. Create a Lasting Impact. Join the Charlotte County Human Services Department as a Compliance Specialist! Make a meaningful impact in your community as part of the Neighborhood Services Division! In this role, you'll help ensure housing assistance and Community Planning and Development programs are delivered fairly, accurately, and in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. You'll review eligibility determinations, provide guidance on complex cases, and monitor staff, partner organizations, affordable rental properties, and federally funded projects. Your work will include conducting file reviews, property inspections, interviews, and on-site monitoring to evaluate program, financial, contractual, and regulatory compliance—including Davis-Bacon and Section 3 requirements. You'll also collaborate with government agencies, community partners, vendors, and program sponsors; prepare clear and accurate reports and correspondence; and help resolve questions or concerns with professionalism and care. Some travel throughout the county may be required. Human Services Department | Human Services The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about departmental policies and procedures and can interpret and apply federal, state, County, and grant-funded program requirements with sound judgment and discretion. This role calls for a patient, compassionate professional who is committed to supporting older adults and individuals with special needs while connecting clients with valuable community resources. Success in this position requires strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records and tracking systems. Candidates should be comfortable using standard office technology, providing helpful guidance through various forms of communication, and building positive relationships with managers, coworkers, service providers, and the public. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, tactful, self-motivated, team-oriented, receptive to direction, and able to travel throughout the county as needed.Education and Experience:
An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience: Associate's Degree Three (3) years of experience in social services programs and activities. Licenses and/orCertificates:
Must maintain a valid driver's license.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
